First sketch

Create a constrained 2D sketch as the base of a part.

Every solid feature in Carrera3D starts from a 2D sketch.

  1. Start a new sketch on a plane or a planar face.
  2. Draw geometry — lines, arcs, circles.
  3. Add constraints (coincident, parallel, dimension, etc). Carrera3D solves the sketch with a Levenberg–Marquardt solver, so it resolves the whole constraint set as you drag, not one constraint at a time.
  4. A fully constrained sketch is ready to use in a feature (extrude, revolve, …).

Under-constrained geometry is not an error — Carrera3D will still let you build on it — but a fully constrained sketch is what makes later edits predictable.
